Abraham Runcorn Hunter (alive around 1800 AD) was a werewolf hunter and the paternal ancestor of Liam Hunter. Liam is greatly inspired by Abraham's legacy in Series 2 and seeks to resolve the mysteries of his exploits.

Werewolf hunting[]

He made great efforts to track a pack of Wolfbloods near Stoneybridge, which are believed to have been members of the Smith family, and found their secret underground den at Aern Hollow. After numerous encounters, he shot William Smith (a Wolfblood and ancestor of Maddy Smith) with a silver bullet. Abraham recorded his ventures and research in a journal, which was later found by Liam.

First encounter at Aern Hollow[]

The following is an excerpt from Abraham's journal, as paraphrased by Liam in Fall of the Wild:

"It was round here [near Aern Hollow] that he first saw the werewolf. The one he shot in my field. He'd been out poaching. He'd caught some rabbits and he'd lit a fire to cook one. The smell attracted one of the beasts. He would have shot it there and then, but he'd used all his gunpowder to light the fire. He could see its eyes lit by the flames. He chased it through the woods... but the werewolf vanished."

The journal further describes that the reason the beast vanished was because it had an underground den in the area, which Abraham later tried to find.
