The Rite of Friogearde is one of the most important ceremonies in the Wild Wolfblood religion. It is a funerary ritual appealing to the deity Friogearde to guide the soul of the deceased to the One Pack. It is performed by Jana, the Smith family, Tom and Shannon on behalf of William Smith in Grave Consequences.
The Ritual[]
In Grave Consequences the end of the ritual is seen. The participants are linked in a circle above the buried remains of the deceased. An invocation is heard from Jana:
"May these bones be blessed, O Friogearde. Guide this spirit to the One Pack, where we hunt proudly for eternity."
The final blessing takes the form of a howl into the night sky.
At some point in the ritual, the herb sage plays a role.
